About Us

The 3on3 Dunk it Tournament is designed so that anyone can play: male or female, young and old, short and tall, the most experienced or no experience at all. This maintains the purity and integrity of the simplistic style of a “pick-up game.”

Since 2000, Dunk it has been an exciting part of our Sarnia Lambton Community.

Teams are guaranteed three (3) scheduled games. Dunk it is a double elimination tournament with a consolation bracket: the “Toilet Bowl” for teams losing their first two games. Volunteering Referees maintain law and order on each court and calls all fouls and violations in the Junior Divisions.

Lambton County Basketball Athletics

Dunk it supports its local schools and their athletic programs.  We feel these programs help build strong character with the youths involved.  60% of the money raised from this tournament goes directly back into these programs helping assist pay for referees, equipment and tournaments.

Each High School will have the chance to showcase their athletic program at the Dunk It event.  This provides the opportunity for people to connect with the respective schools and signup for sports they might be interested in.

Big Brothers

Big Brothers have been associated to the Dunk It event for quite a few years now.  40% of the money raised from the event will be donated to their causes.

Big Brothers of Sarnia-Lambton provides quality guidance in the development of life skills to the children of our community through companionship with adult volunteers.

Big Brothers are men of good character who share a few hours each week with a boy aged 5-14 from a father-absent home.  The Big Brother provides a positive male influence, friendship and fun.  Outing times are flexible which appeals to many busy people whose free time varies each week.  A ˋCouple Matching’ program is also available where spouses can volunteer their time together with a boy.  Volunteers play an active role in choosing the right Little Brother for them to ensure a mutually enjoyable relationship.

The agency’s In-School Mentoring program is a co-operative effort with area schools, matching men and women with boys and girls for an hour a week during the elementary school term.

Volunteer opportunities are also available on committees or behind the scenes.

Big Brothers has something for everyone!
